The Boma Restaurant is located on the Victoria Falls Safari Lodge premises, which is approximately 10 minutes drive from most hotels/lodges in Victoria Falls Town. The restaurant offers a unique dining experience where guests are able to enjoy a selection of local dishes as well as traditional entertainment.

The Boma Restaurant seats 300 people in the dry season (April to October) and 230 in the rainy season (November to March). It is possible to hire The Boma exclusively and this will be based on a minimum of 230 guests.

There is no strict dress code for The Boma, dress is casual. In the summer months light clothing is suitable (September to April) and warm clothing is advisable during the winter months (May to August).

There is an on-site shop that sells items that are frequently requested items such as The Boma cruet sets, potjies, polo shirts, chitenges and caps. There are also tapes and cds of the traditional entertainment available for purchase.

Itinerary:

Upon arrival, guests are welcomed with a traditional greeting in the local languages, Shona and Ndebele. The guests are then dressed in ‘chitenges’ (traditional robes) and prepared to enter the main enclosure. They are invited to take part in a hand washing ceremony before sampling traditional beer and snacks, as a prelude to dinner.

Guests can then help themselves to the various delicacies as often as they like; we want guests to experience everything the Boma has to offer.

A feast of nightly entertainment incorporates Amakwezi traditional dancers, a local story teller and a witchdoctor. After dinner, guests are invited to join in the drumming extravaganza from 21h00. This is the highlight of the evening and all are invited to participate in the drumming and dancing show with our renowned drummers – Amazulu.

Transfers:

The Boma dinner does not include a return transfer, however you can book your transfer with Adventure Zone.

Pick up from Vic Falls Accommodation: Between 19h00-19h15
The drop off time will depend on the guests, the driver will wait and take them back once they are ready to go

Border Formalities:

The Victoria Falls Bridge lies in no mans land; between the Zimbabwean and Zambian Border Posts. Jumpers, sliders, swingers, spectators, etc. must indicate to the immigration officials that they are only proceeding onto the bridge and then returning through the same border post. Immigration officials will then issue a gate pass without stamping of the passport. Sufficient time must be allowed for to get from Vic Falls/Livingstone town to the border, through Customs & Immigration, then down to the bridge and up to the registration area to check in. As such, clients should leave town ONE HOUR before their appointed jump time.
